charmedfears: (aisling secret of kells)

I realized the other day that I really need to start posting here, even if I don't have fic or anything really worthwhile to add, mainly because I'm PAYING for this space, and also because it's way too easy for me not to write at all. This is space that I can write in, and I really need to. I've become an LJ lurker, which sort of defeats the point. So! Here I am.

In RL news:
It's Thanksgiving tomorrow here in the States, which means a family gathering, which means diplomat skills must be engaged. But it also means delicious food, which is a pretty even trade. I just need to remember not to poke "the beast." (I have a relative who is absolutely insufferable, and who always has to be right. Keeping my mouth shut around the beast is key.)

In Fic news:
I have an Ichi/Ishi story that has been sitting around for MONTHS that I recently added to; I think it's actually done, but it needs to be edited again before I post it. I'd like to have it posted before the weekend.

I have watched a lot of posts from friends who are doing NANO and I must admit that it always makes me feel like a failure when I see the productivity of my peers. *hangs head* I had a lot of lofty goals for original fic this year that didn't come into fruition for a variety of reasons. But 2011 is not over yet! We'll see.

In Reading Fic news: I am obsessed with Sherlock (S/J) these days, but particularly anything hurt/comfort. (I know, shocking, right?) Truthfully that is the only kind of fic I want to read anymore. I'm absolutely crazy for h/c. I still seek out Merlin fic (M/A), but again, h/c or GTFO. I'm woefully behind in reading the Bleach manga, so I haven't read any Ichi/Ishi recently for fear of spoilers. :( I feel a little guilty, but I haven't even thought about FMA for months and months. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Roy and Ed, but I feel so far removed from that fandom right now, so it's hard to think about writing anything.

Guess that's the news for now. Happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate it, and Happy Thursday if you don't. ♥

Nice to hear from you whenever you post. (I have the same problem, haven't posted in ages. Stupid school.) And did I read that right? Another of your IchiIshi fics is in the works? :D

I don't know how far behind you are on the manga but honestly I doubt it would take you long to catch up. Oddly, I haven't seen anyone writing IchiIshi that even refers to what's going on in the manga lately. :/

Yes, the Ichi/Ishi fic is YOUR fic. *facepalm* I've only been holding on to it for, I don't know, nearly a year? :0

I think I just need to find a good manga reading site and just go to town. I'm about 3 months behind, I think, but considering each weekly is pretty short, it probably wouldn't take long to catch up. :)

Hope you have a lovely holiday! ♥

So good to have you back!

I can't wait for the new IchiIshi and as I told you back in August (or when it was), I am honestly excited you are so much into Sherlock (esp. h/c)! I swear that once I am done with this stupid translation, I will finish also the IchiIshi I had for Debbie's contest AND my big Sherlock one. And then we can share and moan and goodness, that sounds obscene but it's so true... XD

I know!!! I had such good intentions for debbie's contest, and wow, that deadline blew right by me.

I so want to try writing Sherlock, but I'm TERRIFIED because the fandom is so freaking good, and I hate the idea that I'd write something that is not-British, not-canon, a bit not good. :0 I am very excited that YOU are though and can't wait to read your stuff.

Happy Thanksgiving! I've found that keeping my mouth full of food at all times is a good way to avoid getting into arguments with antagonistic relatives...;)

Hey, you too!! That's a good plan. I will endeavor to do just that. XD

I have a relative who is absolutely insufferable, and who always has to be right.

There's always one in every family.

If you're into Sherlock nowadays, have you checked out [livejournal.com profile] velvet_mace's fic? I'm not even a sherlock fan and she managed to draw me in. >.>

Isn't there always? Everything went pretty well; when said person was being ridiculous, I just went to my happy place.

I have not checked out velvet_mace's fics (at least I don't think I have; I will admit that the Sherlock fandom is so big that I don't know the writers as well as I have in other fandoms.) I will definitely check her out! Thanks for the rec. :3
